U.S. President Donald Trump has sparked a fresh wave of international outrage following a series of disparaging remarks directed at Somalia and Congresswoman Ilhan Omar.
During a recent address, Trump described the nation as a beautiful landscape plagued by chaos and lawlessness.
“Somalia is a beautiful place, but it has nothing. It has one thing that is really strongโcrime. All they do is shoot each other,” Trump stated. He went on to use even harsher language, calling the country a “filthy, disgusting mess” and a “very bad place.”
In the same speech, Trump revisited a long-standing and widely disputed allegation against Minnesota Representative Ilhan Omar, claiming she “married her brother.”
These comments have drawn swift condemnation from Somali community leaders and international observers, who describe the rhetoric as harmful and racially charged.
