Military Base Near Sudan BorderAccording to multiple informed sources, the agreement reportedly led to the establishment of a heavily equipped military facility inside Ethiopia, near the border with Sudan.
The base is said to be used for training fighters affiliated with the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), the paramilitary group engaged in conflict with Sudan’s national army since the outbreak of the country’s civil war.
The facility is reportedly located in Ethiopia’s remote Benishangul-Gumuz region and is believed to have the capacity to host up to 10,000 fighters.
