The Banadir Regional Court has officially reinstated a previous arrest order against the President of the Jubaland State,
Ahmed Mohamed Islam, widely known as Ahmed Madobe.
The decision follows an ongoing political dispute that emerged after Ahmed โ
Madobe secured his fifth term in office during elections held on November 25, 2024.
The controversy centers on disagreements over the timing and structure of the Jubaland election process.
The dispute has strained relations between Jubaland President Ahmed โ
Madobe and the President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Hassan Sheikh Mohamud.
Federal authorities have raised concerns over the electoral framework used,
leading to the issuance of legal measures against the Jubaland leader.
According to available information, the courtโs earlier decision had been temporarily suspended following a peace appeal issued by President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud.
That appeal paved the way for Ahmed Madobeโs anticipated arrival in Mogadishu, where political dialogue is expected to โ
take place between opposition leaders and the federal government on matters of national interest.
The reinstatement of the arrest order comes amid heightened political tensions, even as efforts continue to promote dialogue and de-escalation.

Further developments are expected as talks between the federal leadership and opposition figures move forward.
