Ethiopia–Djibouti Relations: A Shared Vision for Stability and Growth
“This morning, I arrived in Djibouti and was warmly received by President Ismaïl Omar Guelleh,” Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed—
said in a statement highlighting the close ties between the two neighboring countries.
According to the Prime Minister, discussions focused on “geopolitical issues, regional peace —
and security, and the strengthening of bilateral cooperation,” with special emphasis on trade, logistics, and development projects.
These areas are seen as key pillars for deepening cooperation between Ethiopia and Djibouti.
The talks also reaffirmed a “shared and firm commitment to peace, stability, economic integration, and mutual prosperity” in the Horn of Africa.
Both leaders emphasized that closer collaboration is essential not only for their two countries but also for broader regional stability.
