Iran Sends Formal Warning to UN Secretary-General Over Potential Attack The Government of Iran has sent an official letter to the Secretary-General of the United Nations, António Guterres, warning of serious global consequences
if any military strike is carried out against the country.
In the letter, Tehran stated:> “If we are attacked, all military bases,
facilities, and assets of hostile forces in the region will become legitimate targets as part of Iran’s defensive response.
”Iran further emphasized that the United States would bear “full and direct responsibility for all unpredictable and uncontrollable consequences” resulting from any retaliatory action taken by Tehran.
Political SignificanceThe message represents a direct international warning from Tehran.
Iran made it clear that any war would not remain confined to one location, but would extend to U.S. and allied military bases across the region.
The phrase “unpredictable and uncontrolled consequences” suggests the possibility of a broader regional escalation that could go beyond Iran’s borders.
