Pakistan Conducts Major Military Raids in BalochistanPakistan’s security forces say they have killed at least 41 armed fighters during a series of military operations in the southwestern province of Balochistan,
an area long affected by insurgency and separatist violence.
According to a military statement, the raids were carried out in multiple districts and targeted armed groups accused of operating against the state.
The military claimed the fighters had foreign backing, though no evidence was publicly presented to support the allegation.
Details of the OperationsIn one operation near the Harnai district, security forces reported killing around 30 fighters during an exchange of fire.
The military said the group was linked to militant networks that have previously carried out attacks on security personnel and civilians.
In a separate raid in Panjgur district, officials said 11 additional fighters were killed.
Weapons, ammunition, and cash allegedly taken during a previous bank robbery were reportedly recovered during the operation.
The military stated that no soldiers were killed during the raids.
Ongoing Security MeasuresAuthorities said follow-up “clearance operations” are continuing in both areas to ensure no remaining armed elements are present.
Senior government officials described the raids as part of a broader campaign to restore stability and curb militancy in the region.
Rising Violence in BalochistanBalochistan has experienced a noticeable increase in violence in recent months,
with attacks frequently attributed to separatist and armed groups opposing Pakistan’s central government.
Security forces have carried out multiple operations this year aimed at dismantling militant networks.
Earlier this month, the military reported killing a dozen fighters in another operation in the province,
also citing alleged external involvement.
