
Israel Plans Shift From Direct US Aid to Long-Term Military Cooperation
srael is planning to begin new talks with the Trump administration to reach a 10-year security agreement that would replace the current deal set to expire in 2028.
Israel does not want to continue relying on the annual $3.8 billion in direct financial aid it receives from the United States.
Instead, it aims to gradually reduce cash assistance and shift toward joint weapons development, defense cooperation, and shared military projects.
According to the Financial Times, a senior Israeli official said that genuine partnership, technological collaboration, and U.S. military support โ such as air defense systems and heavy strike aircraft โ are more valuable to Israel than direct financial aid.
