Anti-ICE Protesters Drive Far-Right Influencer Out of Minneapolis Rally
Minneapolis, Minnesota 2026
Hundreds of protesters opposing US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) forced a small far-right rally to shut down near
Minneapolis City Hall on Saturday.
The demonstration was led by a far-right influencer who had announced a march in a predominantly immigrant area.
However, only about 10 supporters showed up, while hundreds of counter-protesters quickly surrounded the site, chanting and waving-
signs demanding that ICE and Border Patrol agents leave the city.
Tensions in Minneapolis remain high following the recent fatal shooting of a mother of three by a federal agent, as well as the injury
of a Venezuelan immigrant during a separate enforcement operation days later.
The counter-protesters drowned out attempts to speak
and chased the group away within an hour, forcing them to retreat to a nearby hotel.
Minor scuffles occurred, but no serious violence was reported.
Local police said they were aware of claims circulating online about
injuries but confirmed that no official reports had been filed and no
verified injuries were linked to the protests.
Demonstrations have been taking place daily since federal authorities dramatically increased immigration enforcement in the Twin Cities,
deploying more than 2,000 federal officers.

Protesters have condemned what they describe as aggressive tactics, including masked agents detaining people from homes and vehicles.
At least one death has been linked to the operation,
fueling anger and fear within immigrant communities.
As protests continued, city police and an armored vehicle were
deployed after objects were thrown.
State authorities placed the National Guard on standby to assist with traffic control and public safety if needed,
though they have not yet
been fully deployed.
Earlier this week, a federal judge ruled that immigration officers cannot detain or use tear gas against peaceful protesters
who are not obstructing law enforcement activities.
The ongoing unrest has deepened political tensions between Minnesota’s Democratic leadership and the Trump administration,
with city and state officials stating they will not be intimidated amid growing federal pressure and investigations.
