The Government of Somaliland has issued a strong statement condemning recent remarks by Somalia’s federal authorities calling for foreign military intervention.
The statement describes such calls as a dangerous escalation and a violation of international law,
reaffirming that Somaliland restored its sovereignty in 1991 and has since maintained peace, stability, and democratic governance.
Somaliland also urged international partners to reject what it termed inflammatory rhetoric, while reaffirming its commitment to peace and its right to self-defense under international law.
