An Israeli airstrike targeted an elementary girls’ school in Minab, located in the Hormozgan province of southern Iran, killing at least 51 people, according to state media reports.
The attack highlights the growing civilian toll amid the ongoing US and Israeli military operations in Iran.
Iran’s Mehr News Agency also reported that another Israeli strike hit a school east of Tehran,
resulting in the deaths of at least two students. The incidents are part of a broader campaign claimed by the US and Israel to focus on military objectives, but the civilian casualties have raised serious international concern.
Al Jazeera correspondent in Tehran, Mohammed Vall, stated, “Reports confirm that more than 40 civilians were killed in the Minab attack. Striking civilian sites contradicts claims that military targets are being exclusively hit and may further inflame tensions in the region.”

Iranian authorities emphasize that these attacks violate international law, and President Trump had previously promised humanitarian support to Iranian civilians.
Meanwhile, the Iranian Ministry of Health and Medical Education noted that the 12-day US-Israel campaign in June 2025 caused extensive civilian casualties and significant damage to public infrastructure.
The strikes come amid escalating US-Israel operations in Iran, raising fears of further civilian impact and international legal scrutiny.
