Somali Forces Kill Four Al-Shabaab Fighters in Hiiraan OperationThe Ministry of Defence of Somalia has announced that
the Somali National Army (SNA), alongside local Ma’awisley fighters, conducted a
planned security operation on Friday evening between the areas of Yasooman and Moqokori in the Hiiraan region.
According to officials, the operation followed intelligence reports indicating the movement of militants affiliated with the armed group Al-Shabaab in the area.
Security forces reportedly targeted a group attempting to disrupt civilian movement and attack vehicles traveling along local roads.
During the operation, troops destroyed a vehicle used by the militants.
Authorities confirmed that four fighters described as members of the group were killed in the operation.
No casualties among government forces were immediately reported.
The Hiiraan region has witnessed increased joint operations by federal forces and community-based fighters in
recent months, as part of broader efforts to weaken militant presence and secure transportation routes.-
