U.S. Forces Board Veronica III in Indian Ocean Enforcement Operation
The United States Department of War announced that U.S. forces conducted a maritime interdiction and boarding operation overnight against the vessel Veronica III within the area of responsibility of United States Indo-Pacific Command (INDOPACOM).
According to the official statement published on the departmentโs verified Facebook page, the vessel was subjected to a โright-of-visitโ boarding operation without incident.
Officials stated that the ship had allegedly attempted to evade enforcement measures linked to a presidential quarantine directive issued by Donald Trump. U.S. authorities reported tracking the vessel from the Caribbean Sea to the Indian Ocean before intercepting it.
The statement emphasized the global operational reach of U.S. forces, declaring that distance does not provide protection to those who attempt to violate U.S. enforcement measures.
โInternational waters are not sanctuary. By land, air, or sea, we will find you and deliver justice,โ the department said.
The Department further affirmed its commitment to denying illicit actors and their proxies freedom of movement within the maritime domain, reinforcing Washingtonโs posture on global maritime security enforcement.
No additional operational details were released regarding the vesselโs cargo, crew status, or legal proceedings.
