US Military Boosts Regional Presence with Possible Strikes on Iran
The New York Times has reported that the United States is increasing its military posture in the Middle East, particularly around Iran. The Pentagon is deploying additional naval warships and aircraft carriers to reinforce its strategic presence in the region.
Additionally, the Pentagon has submitted a list of potential targets to President Donald Trump.
These targets are not limited to Iranโs nuclear facilities; they also include:
- Long-range missile stockpiles.
- Missile launch sites and associated weapons manufacturing facilities.
The goal is to weaken Iranโs retaliatory capabilities in the event of any US military action.
The report further mentions that one of the options under consideration is the deployment of highly trained special forces to conduct precision operations inside Iran.
These forces could strike well-protected sites beyond the reach of conventional missiles, as well as facilities used by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).
In summary, the report indicates that US plans go beyond mere verbal threats, highlighting tangible and ongoing military preparations.
