
Presidents Said Abdullahi Deni and Ahmed Mohamed Islam (Ahmed Madobe) were today warmly welcomed in Mogadishu, after previously being denied entry into the capital two weeks ago due to disagreements over arriving with heavily armed security forces.

The arrival of the two regional leaders marks a major political turning point, as national and international attention is now focused on the decisions and proposals they are expected to present at the upcoming high-level political conference, scheduled to take place from February 23 to 25, 2026.
