Talks between the United States and Iran concluded in the Omani capital Muscat on Monday under the mediation of the Omani government, which hosted the negotiations

Officials said discussions are expected to continue, but no concrete outcomes were announced from the latest round.
Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said following the talks that deep mistrust still exists between Tehran and Washington, a factor he described as having a direct impact on the ongoing negotiations.
Despite this, he noted that the atmosphere of the meetings was positive.
Araghchi explained that both sides are currently focused on building a new framework for dialogue rather than immediately addressing highly contentious issues.
He emphasized that the discussions were strictly limited to Iran’s nuclear program and did not include other regional or military matters.
The Iranian foreign minister added that the outcomes of the Muscat meetings will be carefully reviewed in both Tehran and Washington before any further steps are taken.
The negotiations come amid heightened regional tensions and continued international efforts to prevent further escalation between the two longtime adversaries.
