Iran Begins Live-Fire Naval Exercises Near US Military Assets
Iran has announced a two-day live-fire naval exercise in the strategically vital Strait of Hormuz,
set to begin Sunday, further intensifying already heightened tensions with the United States.
The drills come shortly after the United States deployed additional military assets to the Middle East,
including an aircraft carrier and accompanying naval forces, amid growing concerns over regional stability.
US Issues Warning Over Military Manoeuvres
In response to the announcement, US military officials warned that they would not tolerate what they described as unsafe or provocative actions.
These include low-altitude flights near US warships and Iranian fast boats operating at close range or on potential collision paths with American vessels.
US commanders emphasized that any manoeuvres perceived as threatening could trigger a military response,
underscoring the fragile security environment in the region.

Relations between Iran and the United States have deteriorated sharply in recent weeks,
